Merry's Wedding

My cousin Merry's wedding was a beautiful affair. As you'd expect, I mean the woman's name is Merry! It was at a gorgeous castle-like venue with a maze in the back. I remember the smell of the grass and stones there. I remember it was warm and the summer breeze kissed each guest on the cheek as they arrived. I was an awkward 5th grader squidged into an awkward, ill fitting, brazenly colorful dress. The centerpieces for the tables were not flowers, but paint chips. From Lowe's or something. Merry wore not heels, but rather personalized Converse high tops. Her husband, Jim - as any good Minnesotan is named - wore not shiny black spy dress shoes, but rather personalized Jordans. I remember dancing and food. I remember bees and champagne.

The colors...the blues and purples and the clouds were so fucking breathtaking. The sun peaked out and it was bright fucking red. Fiery, neon red. It was incredible. There was a tree that blocked the view a tad but it was gorgeous -- looked like a Mandelbrot in front of the sunrise. And not only that was beautiful, the nature side I mean, but if you looked all the way around even on the UConn side, it was all so beautiful. So blue. He and I just marvelled in the nature and how it was cold but not freezing, windy but not too much...such silence and serenity and the colors man...those fucking colors. I told him the ‘drash about how the sky is like a kippah, because it looked so round...it was gorgeous. I stood up and he was in front of me and he was like 'Look over th...
